phpCOIN

A free WebWare package originally designed for
web-hosting resellers to handle clients, orders,
invoices, notes and helpdesk, but no longer
limited to hosting resellers.

• phpCOIN is used by over thirty-five thousand
  people worldwide*, including web-hosts,
  designers, lawyers, accountants, and a
  school band.
   
• phpCOIN requires a webserver (apache,
  MS IIS, etc.), a MySQL v3.x.x or higher
  database, and php v4.1 or higher.
  Most questions about features are answered
  on the support forums, and several of our
  users are contributing to the online manual
  ~ feel free to add your .02
   
• The current release is 1.4.0. It is a major
  overhaul of the phpCOIN v1.x series code-base
  for readability, speed enhancements, and
  visual and operational consistency, and our
  first effort to ensure php v6 compatibility.
   
• It is also intended to be the last release prior
  to the launch of the commercial phpCOIN v2.
  You can login to a demo site of the current
  version as an admin or a client to see how
  the system works.

• Site Content- create and manage site information
  for easy display for potential and existing clients.
  The content is searchable with the "Search" module.
  
   
• Order Process- provide a configurable of forms
  for collecting client information during order
  process, and provide a single "paylink" at the
  end of the process to direct the client to third
  party billing. Search orders feature available.
  
   
• Invoices- provide a method of invoicing clients
  for orders / services in either a one-shot invoice,
  or as a recurring invoice.
  Search invoices / transactions feature available.
  
   
• Client Management- keep client information profile,
  order history, invoice / payment history, support
  helpdesk ticket history.
  Search clients feature available.
  
   
• Support- provide an integrated support helpdesk
  trouble ticket system. Search trouble tickets
  feature available.
  
   
• Contact- provide a means for clients to contact
  you (ticket system or contact forms) and for the
  admin to contact the clients.

Site or Addon: Making It Fit
The package is designed to operate as a standalone
application (own domain) or as an addon to an
existing domain (subdirectory).

The following items are supported to make the
installation as flexible as possible:
 

• Theme Support- the package is designed to work
  with "themes" or "skins" that can be developed
  by the end user, or in some cases by others with
  a bit more artistic ability. In general- all fonts and
  color characteristics are defined in style sheets
  (entire application via styles). The button images
  and additional layout items can all be included
  in the specific them.
  
   
• Language File Support- the package incorporates
  a language file system in that NO text exists
  within the code that is not editable within the
  language files. If a desired language translation
  does not exist, one can translate by simply editing
  the proper language files.
  
   
• Localization- the package incorporates some
  localization settings such as currency prefix /
  suffix, number formatting, locale selection and
  format strings for date / time display.
  
   
• Wrapper Enabled- and for those who have
  standard header and footer files for their sites,
  the package supports html type files for
  "wrapping" around the phpCOIN content.
  This feature can be easily turned off/on as desired.
  
   
• Flip of the Switch- the package has "many"
  configuration options for showing / hiding items,
  adjusting layout, optional viewing items, etc.
  that are mostly handled by a simple "flip of a
  config switch".

The Content:

The package provides several methods of creating
and presenting various site content to current
/ future clients. The built-in items one can use:
 

• AuxPages- the package provides a content
  module called "Auxpages" which permits the
  admin to load single coded pages into the system
  by simply creating the page and calling accordingly.
  This feature is to provide capability more advanced
  than the standard "Pages" or "SiteInfo" content.
  
   
• FAQ- the package provides a basic "FAQ" module
  which permits the admin to create from the
  browser interface, "Frequently Asked Questions"
  content for the site. Multiple FAQ's with
  questions/answers can be created. In addition,
  the "FAQ" can be assigned to be viewed by all
  visitors, existing clients, or admins only and
  can features on/off for each item to permit
  "work in progress". The FAQ content is included
  in the "Search" content options.
  
   
• Menu System- the package provide top menu,
  and separate logged in user menu, that can be
  configured through the admin interface as to
  whether on/off, which images to use, and the
  desired link for each button. In addition, left/right
  menu columns are also available for additional menu functions.
  
   
• Pages- the package provides a content module
  called "Pages" which permits the admin to create
  from the browser interface, content for the site.
  The content can be in the form of plain text, or
  common html with images, tables, etc.
  The "Pages" feature also includes footer menu
  navigation options for "flowing" documentation
  (prev / main / next buttons are configurable for
  each page). The Pages content is included in
  the "Search" content options.
  
   
• SiteInfo- the package provides a content module
  called "SiteInfo" which permits the admin to create
  from the browser interface, content for the site.
  The content can be in the form of plain text, or
  common html with images, tables, etc.
  The SiteInfo content is very similar to the Pages
  content, but geared more towards common site
  information items: policies, about, main index,
  announcement, etc. and offers an on/off
  "Return" footer menu.
